I work closely with photographers with the goal of helping them understand both their strengths and weaknesses in relation to specific projects, and how best to move forward in their career. My professional background is diverse—teaching, writing, editing, publishing, coaching, lecturing and working as a photographer. I bring all of this experience to bear in our consultations.

My strength lies in reviewing and assessing bodies of work and long-term projects, particularly projects that may be book related. I can help you in specific ways:

• I will help you to understand the world of photography and photobook publishing.
• I review and assess photography portfolios. I’m comfortable looking at a wide-range of work, from fine-art to editorial and documentary.
• I can review your materials in preparation for portfolio review events.
• I consult on book projects. I can assist in everything from the initial concept to editing and sequencing and finding an appropriate designer and researching the field of publishers.
• I will advise you in producing a book proposal for a publisher.
• I am available to work with you on writing or editing an artist statement.
• I can coach you on the creative direction for your work in general or a project in particular, building on your strengths.
